Labor Day signals the unofficial end of summer yet the fun continues in Southport and St. James Plantation. The weather is sunny and warm, the threat of hurricanes and rain are distant memories. The pools at St. James continue to provide a little something for everybody. Fresh water, saltwater, indoors and outside the pools provide an alternative to the ocean beaches.
The indoor pool at the Member's Club overlooks the golf course and has a hot tub/spa pool as well as a pool for your lap swims or lazily drifting while watching the clouds. The gym is well attended and there is nothing like a quick dip in the pool post workout to refresh and cool down the energized athlete.
St. James has opened a new "Woodlands" area that contains a new saltwater pool. A happy alternative to the ocean beach, the saltwater pool boasts fountains, a graduated entry for even the tiniest swimmer as well as an open sand play area. The refreshment stand serves all your needs, even fresh water for drinking and the open parking area is convenient to the gate.
Pets can find a place in St. James also, at the dog park. Constructed with tunnels, hills, shade and sun, the park provides fenced space for your dog to exercise or merely find a new playmate. When the fun is done, a wash down area is available and fresh drinking water.
St. James is continuing with residential construction yet has developed additional play areas for everybody. Whether your choice is golf, walking, swimming or sunbathing, you'll find all of these and more inside St. James Plantation. Just remember, there is still summer fun to be found at St. James.
